Increased SNAP Benefits Will Continue in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott Says!
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said that the Supplemental Nutrition Program Assistance (SNAP) benefits will continue.

Millions of Americans rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the pandemic and the increasing inflation rate. This helped them to buy nutritious food and meet their daily needs.
The amount that each family received in their SNAP benefits varies based on the state where they lived. According to a published article in FORBES, nearly 41 million Americans received SNAP benefits.
Meanwhile, SNAP benefits are most commonly known as “Food Stamps” and the amount is credited through the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT). This is a federal program that started to increase in October last year.

Increased SNAP Benefits in Texas
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that the increased SNAP benefits will continue this February 2023. However, there is no indication if this benefit will continue or will go back to its pre-pandemic level.
According to the Colorado County Citizen, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will provide more than $345.9 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to continue the benefits this month.
Furthermore, this will benefit 1.6 million households in Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott said, “The State of Texas has been able to help millions of families across our great state access the food they need to stay healthy. We’re proud to have provided billions of dollars in supplemental benefits so Texans could have healthy and nutritious food options to take care of their families and loved ones.”
Needless to say, the SNAP benefits are expected to be credited this February 28 and each qualified household will receive a minimum amount of $95.
